ArteSano Lounge Grill: A Small Steakhouse in Sabaneta with Good Steaks

ArteSano Lounge Grill is a small steakhouse located in Sabaneta with very good steaks that hasn’t been discovered by many foreigners.

In the United States, we’d call ArteSano a steakhouse, but here in Colombia and South America it’s known as a parilla, a restaurant where grilled meats are served.

I had walked by this small steakhouse many times and didn’t try it until recently. I found out that this small steakhouse has very good steaks including an inexpensive (for Medellín) Tomahawk steak. Note the above photos are courtesy of ArteSano.

The Food Menu

ArteSano Lounge Grill has several options on the menu. Since it’s a steakhouse the specialties are dishes from the grill that include:

• Tomahawk Brangus (900 grams) – 77,900 pesos
• Punta de Anca (cap of rump) steak (350 grams) – 37,900 pesos
• Chata Barnagus (350 grams) – 35,900 pesos
• Chata Búfalo (330 grams) – 40,900 pesos
• BBQ ribs (1,000 grams) – 75,900 pesos
• Half-order BBQ ribs (500 grams) – 39,900 pesos
• Tomahawk Pork (1,000 grams) – 56,900 pesos
• Chicken filet with bacon – 21,900 pesos

Each of these grill options comes with a choice of potatoes, a small salad and a few arepas de queso (cheese).

Also, there are three burgers on the menu for 20,900 to 22,900 pesos and a steak stroganoff sandwich for 22,900 pesos. In addition, there are six pizzas on the menu for 15,000 16,500 pesos (4 slices each).

Furthermore, there are three appetizers on the menu for 11,000 to 15,500 pesos.

The Drink Menu

This restaurant has a small drink menu. There are 5 beers on the menu for 5,000 to 7,000 pesos.

For non-alcoholic drinks there are natural juices, sodas, lemonades and water and tea for 3,500 to 7,000 pesos.

How to Get to ArteSano Lounge Grill

ArteSano Lounge Grill Wok is located only three blocks north from popular Parque Sabaneta in Sabaneta.

An easy way to get to Parque Sabaneta is to take the Medellín metro Line A south to the Sabaneta metro station. And the Sabeneta station is only about 10 minutes from the Poblado metro station.

Parque Sabaneta is located about a 10-minute walk east from the Sabaneta station. In addition, there are many people walking on the streets to/from the metro station. So, it’s relatively safe during the day and even after dark – but not too late.

Also, there are frequent and inexpensive metro buses that use Civica cards that cost only 2,300 pesos, which run from the Sabaneta metro station to and from the park.  Most noteworthy, these buses don’t drop you at the park, they drop you about a block from the park.

In addition, there is a taxi stand at the Sabaneta metro station, which normally has taxis available. Furthermore, any taxi driver in Medellín will know where Parque Sabaneta is located. It’s also normally pretty easy to catch a taxi at the park.
