I have eaten at Black Pepper numerous times over the past few years. And I have tried many things on the menu including several of the steaks, the pork tenderloin, the crusted salmon, the St. Louis ribs and the surf and turf.
Black Pepper Steakhouse is located in Envigado in an area known as Calle de la Buena Mesa (Street of the Good Table), which has many restaurants.

Burro Pizzeria is a popular pizzeria in Envigado with very good thin-crust pizzas. And it hasn’t yet been discovered by many foreigners.
I have been to this pizzeria several times and it has good pizzas. Burro Pizzeria specializes in thin-crust pizza and they use the slogan “The Art of Pizza” and the pizza are made with very fresh ingredients.
The pizzas at Burro Pizzeria come in one size with eight slices. On the menu at Burro are 18 different pizzas.

Classic Diner is a popular restaurant in Envigado near Medellín. It has a classic American diner feel including a table inside a car and good gourmet burgers. In addition, it has a pool table inside of a car.
This is one of the largest restaurants I have seen in Medellín. In addition, Classic Diner won the 2018 Burger Master competition in Medellín with its Gran Torino burger.
Classic Diner specializes in gourmet style burgers that are named after car models. And they have a selection of 19 different burgers on the menu.

4. Crepes & Waffles – a Popular Chain Specializing and Crepes, Waffles and Ice Cream
Crepes & Waffles is a very popular chain of restaurants in Colombia that specializes in crepes, waffles and ice cream.
In Medellín, Crepes & Waffles is so popular the company has grown to a total of 19 restaurants and 10 ice cream shops. And the restaurants are not difficult to find, as over half of them in Medellín are found in malls in the city.
The company has grown to over 80 restaurants in nine cities in Colombia and a total of over 100 restaurants in nine countries. In addition, the company is known for primarily hiring women who are the head of a household.
Crepes & Waffles has an extensive food menu. Obviously crepes and waffles are the focus. The extensive menu can be seen online (in Spanish).
This restaurant is a good option for lunch, brunch, dinner or just a dessert. It’s expected to remain a popular restaurant chain due to having some good food.

5. El Correo Carne y Vino y Amada – a Popular Steakhouse Chain
El Correo Carne y Vino y Amada is a steakhouse chain with three restaurants in Medellín, which are very popular. This restaurant chain has a nice ambience and some very good steaks and also very good desserts.
El Correo actually started out as a pastry business. The first dream of the founders was a boutique pastry shop. The idea was to pay tribute to grandmother and her delicious dessert preparations.
So, the founders started out with pastries being made at home. And then in 2009, they opened their first pastry point of sale location in Medellín.
The second dream of the founders was to offer meat and wines. So, after a few years with the pastry business, they opened the first El Correo Carne y Vino y Amada in October 2012, which offers steaks, wines and desserts.
Since the first El Correo steakhouse opened in 2012, it has grown into a chain of three steakhouses in Medellín and one in Montería. Also, they have an Amada pastry shop in El Tesoro mall.

La Burger Bar (aka The BGR Burgers) is a gourmet burger restaurant located in Envigado, which is very popular with good burgers.
I have a friend living near Parque Envigado and I have been to the restaurant several times. This restaurant originally opened in 2014. And it appears to have used two names: La Burger Bar and The BGR Burgers. When it first opened it was a smaller restaurant but expanded to add more space.
La Burger Bar has some very good burgers and it has 17 different burgers on the menu. But you can also choose additional toppings or remove toppings. So, the burgers can be custom made.

La Doctora is steakhouse with two locations in Envigado and Sabaneta that is popular with locals and it has some good steaks, ribs and fish. La Doctora is known as a parilla, which is a restaurant where grilled-meats are served.
This restaurant is a favorite of the locals in Envigado and Sabaneta. The food is good and the potions are huge. Also, on the weekends they tend to have live entertainment at night. This is a no-frills casual restaurant that is popular with couples and families.
La Doctora has many options on the menu. Since it’s a steakhouse, the specialties are dishes from the grill, which include over nine steaks. Also, there are several traditional Colombian dishes like Bandeja Paisa and several fish dishes on the menu.

La tRES uno is a small steakhouse located in Envigado in Calle de la Buena Mesa that is popular with locals and some foreigners and it has some good steaks.
A friend lives near this steakhouse and highly recommended it. So, I went with my friend recently for lunch and returned for dinner the following week with another friend. Service was excellent both times and the steaks were perfectly cooked and very good.

9. Mu Medellín – Arguably the Best Ribs
Mu Medellín is a popular British-owned restaurant in Medellín with arguably the best ribs in Medellín. Ribs are essentially the only thing on the menu at Mu.
Mu uses the slogan “Fukin Good Ribs” and the ribs at this restaurant are huge and meaty. Mu is owned by husband and wife Simon and Elizabeth. And this restaurant only serves ribs.
I have eaten at Mu several times over the past eight years and the ribs at the restaurant have always been excellent and service has been good.

Ná Pizza is a popular pizzeria in Envigado with very good thin-crust pizzas. I first went to this pizzeria in November 2018 that was recommended by a Medellin Guru reader and found that the pizzas are very good.
Ná Pizza is reportedly owned by Italians. And Ná Pizza specializes in thin-crust pizza cooked in a gas brick-oven. In addition, this restaurant has some good pasta dishes.
The pizzas at Ná Pizza come in one size with eight slices. On the menu at Ná Pizza are 33 different pizzas.

11. Ragazzi Pizzas Y Pastas – a Popular Pizzeria
Ragazzi Pizzas Y Pastas is a popular pizzeria chain with two pizzerias in the Medellín metro area. This chain’s first pizzeria is in Envigado, which opened about two years ago and it has pizzerias in Sabaneta and Laureles.
Ragazzi has very good pizzas that are served on a skillet to keep the pizzas hot, something I haven’t seen at another pizzeria in Medellín. Also, it has some good pasta dishes.
The pizzas at Ragazzi come in three sizes: personal (18 cm), for a couple (28 cm) or with friends (38 cm). On the menu at Ragazzi are 16 different pizzas.

20Mission Cerveza is an exciting brewery in Medellín that opened in September 2018. 20Mission Cerveza is a hidden gem of a brewery, hiding out in a nondescript warehouse down the alleyways of barrio Manila in El Poblado.
In addition, 20Mission Cerveza is not just a new brewery with six types of high-quality beer. It’s also a large venue with a restaurant, bar and a big space for events.
For its delivery service during the quarantine, 20Mission Cerveza offers its six craft beers and also food from its food menu.

The “Khlua Thai” (Thai kitchen) is a small restaurant and is owned by Oscar and his wife from Bangkok, Thailand. It is the only authentic Thai restaurant in Medellin (actually located in Envigado), as far as I know.
It is located near the Parque de Envigado.
They offer domicilios at least during this lockdown period (delivery service to Poblado for 10’000 pesos and Laureles/Belen for 12’000 pesos)
They offer fried rice (khao pad) with chicken, fried noodles, Pad Thai, mixed vegetables among other things. The portions are big and inexpensive.
I have eaten there several times and it is delicious.
