Another artisinal pizza restuarant in laureles estadio is La Prov located at carr 69 and calle 45. Also craft beers and other food items. Very good crust and pizzas.
You guys really like pizza in Medellin! However, do you know if any of those offer GLUTEN FREE (no wheat) crust? I know of one in Bogota, havn’t tried it yet. Other than pizza and sandwiches, wheat is not dominant in Latin America so relatively easy to find GF pastries and meals. (such as Pandebono and Almojabana))
Thanks and great series about the pizza places in Medellin. Are there any places with good Chicago-style pan pizza?
Hi Paul, thanks. I lived in Chicago for two years and like Chicago-style pan pizza. Unfortunately I haven’t found a pizzeria in Medellín yet with good pan pizza.
Paul, I’m with the other Jeff on this. There’s no good Chicago Style pizza in Medellin at the moment. There’s actually a restaurant called, Chicago’s Deep Dish Pizza and it’s with a heavy heart that I can’t recommend it. I’ve had 2 of their specialty pizzas and it’s not even close. There’s dough, sauce and ingredients but on a scale of 1-10 it’s about a 3. Maybe one day…
Hi Jeff, the other Jeff here.
Yes, I totally agree with you. I tried Chicago’s and was not impressed with their deep dish pizza.
So, there is an opportunity for a place to have an authentic Chicago-style deep dish pizza in Medellín.
Thanks nice post, I live in Laureles and I love thin crust pizza so plan to try this pizzeria out.
Hi Linda, thanks. Due Amici has very good thin-crust pizzas. It exceeded my expectations.
