Palazzetto D’Italía is a hidden gem Italian restaurant located in El Centro in Medellín with some good Italian food with fresh ingredients. And since this restaurant is located in El Centro, it hasn’t yet been discovered by many foreigners.
Palazzetto D’Italía was founded in 1986. The chef and owner of the restaurant, Elena Cuccia Alloni, grew up in an Italian family where good food was very important. And her father always said “I live to eat and not to live.”
The motto of this restaurant is “the best in pastas”. Also, the pasta and sauces at this restaurant are homemade using high quality national and imported ingredients.

This is a relatively small restaurant located on the second floor with some small and cozy dining rooms. This restaurant is a nice relaxing change of pace from El Centro, which at times can be chaotic.
Also, Palazzetto D’Italía is currently the third highest rated Italian restaurant in Medellín on TripAdvisor. This restaurant has good Italian food made with homemade pasta and it has good service in my experience. In addition, it’s one of my favorite places to have lunch while in El Centro.
The Food Menu at Palazzetto D’Italía
Palazzetto D’Italía has a fairly sizable menu with appetizers, pasta dishes, meat and fish dishes plus desserts.
One of the house specialties is the lasagna. There are 10 different lasagna dishes on the menu priced from 24,000 to 30,000 pesos. And mini versions of four of the lasagna dishes are available and cost 21,500 to 23,000 pesos. Furthermore, the lasagna is available for takeout in sizes for three, six or 10 people.
Also, there are 10 other house specialties on the menu priced from 24,000 to 31,000 pesos.
There are several other pasta dishes on the menu. For example, there are 17 different dishes available with either spaghetti or fettuccine pasta priced from 20,000 to 34,000 pesos.
Also, there are eight meat or fish dishes that are priced from 29,000 to 34,000 pesos. And there are four salads priced from 24,000 to 30,000 pesos. In addition, there are five appetizers on the menu priced at 9,500 to 15,000 pesos.
Finally, there are five desserts on the menu that are priced at 9,500 to 10,000 pesos.
The Drink Menu
Palazzetto D’Italía has a relatively small drink menu. They have seven beer options on the menu with prices that range from 4,500 to 7,500 pesos.
Also, there is house wine available by the glass, half-bottle or bottle. And there is a selection of red, white and rosé Argentinian and Chilean wines available by the ¼-bottle, half-bottle or bottle. In addition, there are a few liquors available by the shot or glass.
Nonalcoholic beverages include natural fruit juices teas, lemonades and sodas for 3,900 to 4,500 pesos. In addition, there are a few coffee options on the menu for 3,500 to 5,000 pesos.
How to Get to Palazzetto D’Italía
Palazzetto D’Italía is located in El Centro and is within walking distance from many of the popular tourist spots in El Centro. For example, the restaurant is located about a 10-minute walk from Museo de Antioquia.
Also, you can get to this restaurant using the Medellín Metro. To get there take the Line A metro to the Parque Berrio station. And the restaurant is located is about a 10-minute walk from this metro station.
