The most popular export flower from Colombia is the rose, which is the most gifted flower on Valentine’s Day.

Colombia’s flower industry is significant. In 2022, it was responsible for more than 200,000 formal jobs, 110,000 of which were direct jobs. Of these direct jobs, 60% were held by women, many of whom are the sole heads of their families. In 2022, flower exports from Colombia reached about USD 1.6 billion, an increase of 22% compared with 2021. Also, the flower industry in Colombia exports about 92 percent of its cargo by air, and the remaining 8% by ocean.
