The June Medellin Guru meetup event will take place on Tuesday, June 18, at 6 pm at Mercado Del Tranvia Envigado, which is located in Envigado near Parque Envigado.
Many readers of the Medellin Guru website asked that we host meetups in Medellín. So, we started having meetups in Medellín. And we are having our 10th monthly meetup on June 18, 2019.
The Medellín Guru meetups are now the largest monthly events for foreigners in Medellín. Over 165 people on average attended each of our last five monthly meetups.
For our June Medellin Guru meetup, we are meeting at the Mercado Del Tranvia in Envigado, which is a new gastronomic market with many food options and a large space for mingling. This is the same venue where we held our April meetup. And the above photos are from our April meetup.

We will have a free beer or Coca-Cola available for our June Medellin Guru meetup for our first 120 guests at Mercado Del Tranvia Envigado (70 free beers and 50 free Coca-Colas).
Some attendees at our previous meetups didn’t drink alcohol and asked if we could expand our free drink offering at our meetups. So, we added Coca-Cola as a free drink option.

For our meetup in June, we are inviting several experts who can answer your questions about visas, health insurance, healthcare, taxes, dental, legal issues, real estate and U.S. Veteran issues. We had over 10 experts at our meetup in May who could answer your questions.
So far we have confirmed the following experts will attend our meetup in June:
- Visa Questions: the visa agency Expatgroup.co will be there to answer visa questions.
- Health Insurance Questions: insurance agent will be at our meetup and can answer health insurance questions.
- Legal Questions: Joe Bovino and others from the Cuadro Legal law firm will be there and can answer questions about many legal topics.

Motorrad Angels: bringing clean water to those in need
Meet Our Special Guest: Motorrad Angels
Motorrad Angels is a non-profit group of motorcycle enthusiasts traveling in Colombia and the world bringing clean water and medical assistance to those in need.
This non-profit charity organization started out in Colombia and has been expanding rapidly with clean water and disaster relief projects mostly in Latin America. And they have grown to where they have chapters in 29 different countries.
This is a very interesting charity, which is combining adventure riding with bringing clean water and medical and dental assistance to some of the world’s most vulnerable communities.
At the June Medellin Guru meetup, Motorrad Angels will have a presentation with a video and also a demonstration of the water filter they use. Unfortunately at our May meetup, the venue would let us do Motorrad Angels’s planned presentation. So, we invited them again in June.

More About Mercado Del Tranvía Envigado
Mercado Del Tranvía Envigado is a new gastronomic market in the Aburrá Valley, which has a collection of about 25 restaurants and bars in a warehouse located near Parque Envigado in Envigado.
This food market opened in November 2018. And it has already become popular. Mercado Del Tranvía in Envigado has many small format restaurants with a big variety of cuisines available.
At this food market, food is purchased at the small format restaurants. And food is eaten at several bar-height and several lower tables, which are cleaned quickly and efficiently by the staff. Also, there are some TVs for watching sports.
There currently is a total of about 25 food and drink places at Mercado Del Tranvía Envigado. So, there will be huge selection of food available at our June meetup.
Food options include Arabic, traditional Colombian, Greek, hamburgers, Italian, Mexican, Peruvian, pizza, sandwiches, seafood, steaks, sushi, wings and much more.

There are also a couple of bars, a coffee shop and desserts at several kiosks. And there are two floors in this large food market with space for over 400 people.
For our meetup, we will be in the meeting at the back of the first floor in a large space with high tables making it easier for mingling.
How to Get to Mercado Del Tranvía Envigado
The easiest way to get to Mercado Del Tranvía in Envigado is using the Medellín Metro. To get there take the Line A metro to the Envigado metro station.
Also, Mercado Del Tranvía is located half a block from Parque Envigado, which is about a 15-minute walk from the metro station. Or you could take a bus from the metro station or a minimum fare taxi for 5,600 pesos.

From Parque Envigado walk half a block to the right of the Iglesia de Santa Gertrudis church and you will find this new food market on the left side of the street.
In addition, any taxi driver in the city will know where Parque Envigado is located.

We had over 180 attendees at our May meetup at 20Mission Cerveza. Also, we have averaged over 165 attendees at our past five monthly meetups, which makes them the largest monthly events for foreigners in Medellín.

In response to demand from readers, Medellin Guru is hosting our 10th monthly meetup on June 18 at Mercado Del Tranvía in Envigado. And this is a huge venue with a big selection of food and drinks from about 25 restaurants, bars and a café.
This meetup is a great way to meet other expats in Medellín. It’s also a good way to get your questions answered from several experts we invite to the meetup and also from experienced expats who have been living in Medellín for many years.
