The Bottom Line: La Doctora – A Popular Steakhouse in Sabaneta and Envigado
La Doctora is a popular steakhouse with two locations in Sabaneta and Envigado. On the weekends there is usually some entertainment and both locations can be a bit crowded.
I have been to the Sabaneta location of this restaurant several times and the food has been consistently good. Also, I have been to the Envigado location a few times where the food is the same quality as the Sabaneta location.
The biggest competition for this restaurant in Sabaneta is Mama Santa Parrillada, which is another popular steakhouse in Sabaneta.
In my experience, both locations of La Doctora are normally the busiest on the weekends when they are typically filled with local Colombians who know the food is good.

I think I need to give this place another try since it mostly gets good reviews. My one experience wasn’t very good. I ordered a hamburger since I wasn’t that hungry. Being relatively new to Colombia, I forgot about a few things… like the bacon is nothing like in the US. It’s much thicker and half-cooked. Not saying it’s a bad thing, but my taste buds aren’t accustomed to it. So, I removed the bacon. Then the white cheese. I was never fond of it and can’t figure out why it seems to be the national obsession. I peeled that off. I was left with a bare burger. I took one bite and that was it. It was incredibly salty, unlike many dishes I’ve had here. I couldn’t eat it.
That’s all I have to judge them by. I’m not a big meat eater and wouldn’t have gone there except for a friend. How is the fish?
I always get the steaks but my Colombian wife has ordered a few of the fish dishes and said they were good.
Nice article, I agree that La Doctora has some good food and they do a good job of cooking steaks to order.
