During the 2025 Flower Festival, Medellín is adorned with tradition, heritage, and legacy. It does so beautifully through its flowers, silletas, peasants, songs, customs, gastronomy, culture, and now as an indispensable tradition, through the Desfile de Autos Clásicos 2025 (2025 Classic Car Parade).
As every year, thousands of people take to the streets to witness more than 400 cars that demonstrate that Medellín is a city built with effort and that to become the “Most Innovative City in the World” or the “Software Valley,” it was also a city where its history and dynamism can be reflected in in classic cars — old models, past editions of vehicles that once graced its streets and that today are increasingly scarce and more striking. Their mere presence is an eternal reminder of an old, aged Medellín, which, although it has evolved, does not forget its roots and does not cease to rewrite its history from many points of view.

The Desfile de Autos Clásicos 2025 ignites an enormous passion in its attendees, who not only delight in the colors, beauty, or the model year represented by the date inscribed on the front — leading many to murmur or comment, “what an old car, but look how well-maintained it is” — but also journey through a little piece of history as they see entire families riding in these vehicles, dressed in period clothing from 60 or 70 years ago, when even fire trucks, taxis, police trucks, and buses were so different.
This is what we saw, and this is what you can experience next year when you come to the 2026 Flower Fair. Or, why not register your car in the call for entries that we are convinced will continue to surpass itself year after year.

How was the Desfile de Autos Clásicos 2025 Part of the Flower Festival?
The 2025 Feria de las Flores was the 68th edition, marking 68 years of celebration alongside the iconic Desfile de Silleteros. However, the 2025 Classic Cars Parade was the 28th edition within these festivities. Don’t think that just because it’s only been part of a third of the Feria de las Flores’s history that it hasn’t been significant. We are easily talking about the second most important parade of the Feria, and it has a background worth briefly mentioning.
The Classic and Antique Car Parade is an itinerant museum that travels the city streets during the August Flower Festival. It is organized by the Antioquian Autoclub of Antiques and Classics, Classics and Antiques of the Mountain, and the Automobile Club of Colombia, Antioquia section — which would form the current “Transport Museum” with the support of El Colombiano. The first edition was held during the 1996 Flower Festival, which was the 39th edition. Since then, it has aimed to celebrate the conservation, restoration, and collection of classic and antique automobiles in the country and the city.

Don't think that for 28 years, paisas and visitors have seen the same old cars over and over again, it's not like that. Each year features a series of vehicles and themes that are honored.
For example, for the #27 edition in 2024, the tribute was to convertible automobiles, as cars that have captured the imagination of enthusiasts in the world of classic cars, where there were examples from all eras, highlighting the Ford Mustang, the Chevrolet Corvette, the Jaguar E-Type, and the Mercedes-Benz SL. This year, 2025, was no exception, and there was also a very heartfelt tribute that made the streets of Medellín vibrate and which you can see below:

How was Edition #28 of Desfile de Autos Clásicos 2025 in Medellín?
This year, version #28 had as its motto: “Eternal Spring on Wheels” and focused the Classic Cars Parade on an evocation of old vehicles as living witnesses to the passage of time, enveloped in the beauty and vitality that make Medellín the city of eternal spring, where on August 7, 2025, the protagonists and honorees were family cars: sedans, station wagons, and campers that for decades accompanied generations through the streets of Medellín – vehicles that represent union, shared journeys, and the warm spirit of home on wheels.

This parade is so iconic, so popular, and attracts so many people that it is the longest parade of all. On the morning of August 7th, around 390 antique vehicles gathered on Avenida Bolivariana next to UPB to begin at 10 AM with a 17 km route that covered iconic roads such as Avenida Bolivariana, Avenida 33, Autopista Sur, Vía Regional, Avenida del Ferrocarril, Carabobo, and Avenida Las Vegas, where absolutely all of them were packed with people cheering and longing to see the vehicles pass by.
We believe this parade is one of the most inclusive and comprehensive in the city, highlighting its local, historical, and family character. We, who were located on Avenida Ferrocarril in the official boxes along with many other locals and foreign visitors, started seeing the cars pass around noon, even though our location was practically halfway, because from there it would take Avenida Regional until reaching EAFIT University, making this parade with a duration of around 4 or 5 hours, allowing everyone to see it! Simply perfect.
Do not think that waiting is exhausting or kills the moment. People do not rest, do not sit down, do not stop dancing, taking photos, conversing, smiling, drinking cold beer and aguardiente, even during small moments when the rain was present, that is, without minimizing the festive spirit of the parade in the slightest.

Extra credit for mentioning the official boxes or grandstands that you can purchase through certain official tour operators, authorized by the Mayor’s Office of Medellín. It is important to note this so that you are not scammed and can experience this and many other parades from the comfort of a seat, in the company of many people who share your vibe and feelings, along with the convenience of having mobile bathrooms available at all times, fast food stands, itinerant restaurants, and authorized liquor sales points, and even better, at fair prices! We wanted to create a video highlighting the wonderful experience and its advantages, so you can keep it in mind for next year’s edition.
Returning to the parade, it’s particularly striking how you see people on the sidewalks, bridges, stands, corners, and green areas. Nothing escapes the festive and family spirit of this parade, where each car is appreciated, admired, cheered, and revered as its own, considering that nearly 100 vehicles arrived from cities like Bogotá, Cali, Pereira, and Bucaramanga to be part of the event, reinforcing the national character of the parade.
We also cannot forget to mention, in addition to the honored cars, some unique pieces such as the Popemobile used by Pope Francis in 2017 and the French De Dion Bouton from 1900, the oldest automobile preserved in the country, where each vehicle was accompanied by period costumes designed by their owners, as well as a floral setting with orchids, heliconias, anthuriums and all kinds of flowers.

Without a doubt, it is one of the most emblematic events of Feria de las Flores and always serves as the perfect prelude to the Silleteros Parade due to the passion, energy, human warmth and impetus with which people experience this parade, being just a preview of the thousand sensations that it generated and that the Silleteros Parade generates for everyone. We saw the initial advertising caravan with its large floats and decorated troupes, the caravan of themed cars according to this edition, starting from the most modern to the oldest where beautiful Hot Rods, old military vehicles, the equally old Fire Department trucks and the final advertising caravan to close with a flourish, one of the most memorable, awaited and unmissable events of the Flower Fair.
Yes, we lived it, but you too can take a look at everything we just mentioned, but yes, do it under your own responsibility, we assure you that you will want to be present next year, and we, from Medellín Guru, will wait for you!
Can I Register My Classic Car for the Classic Cars Parade?
We know that many of you who read us will not only want to participate and witness this beautiful parade, but also you might be encouraged to share with the public and show those models that you treasure, care for, adorn, and preserve with such fervor. The Bottom Line: Desfile de Autos Clásicos 2025: Highlights of the Classic Cars Parade
Our experience at the 2025 Desfile de Autos Clásicos was truly incredible. We witnessed firsthand the immense passion and festive spirit that filled the streets of Medellín as classic and antique cars, many accompanied by families in period clothing, paraded for hours. From the vibrant atmosphere to the cheering crowds along the 17 km route — and even the resilience shown during small rain showers — the parade was a testament to Medellín’s rich history and dynamic culture.. The event’s inclusivity, the variety of vehicles including the Popemobile and the 1900 French De Dion Bouton, and the dedication of collectors from across the country made it an unforgettable prelude to the Silleteros Parade.
