Catalán is a popular restaurant and butcher shop in Sabaneta with good food and specializes in real ham, meats without additives and gluten free products.
I have lived in Sabaneta for nearly four years and buy meat products from this butcher shop and have eaten at this restaurant several times.
The meat in this butcher shop is top quality. And the food in the restaurant is very good with natural raised meats. Note the above photos are courtesy of Catalán. Also, we included Catalán in our list of the best restaurants in Sabaneta.
More About Catalán
For over 30 years, Catalán has taken care of their own pig and cattle genetics on their farms, feeding them with their own formulations, without supplying any kind of growth hormones. And their cattle are raised on pastures that only use organic fertilizer.
Several years ago, Catalán decided to make the ham that they dreamed of finding in Colombia. This is a real ham. The whole piece is massaged and does not pass through a mill, where it is commonly mixed with flours and chicken pastes. So, the hams at Catalán are pure meat.
All their products are gluten free, without the addition of monosodium glutamate. You can find Catalán products at some stores in Medellín such as PriceSmart and they have a small stand in the Viva Envigado mall.
In Sabaneta, they have a showroom that is butcher shop and also a restaurant, which reportedly opened in 2012.
