Ciudad Altavoz Medellín 2025

July 11 @ 2:00 pm - July 13 @ 9:00 pm Free

Medellín is preparing to come alive with a new edition of Ciudad Altavoz 2025, a key platform for showcasing local talent and projecting emerging bands from the city. This year, 70 musical groups will perform from Friday, July 11, to Sunday, July 13, at three different venues: The Carlos Vieco Open-Air Theatre, the Gardel Plaza at Olaya Herrera Airport, and the Manuel Mejía Vallejo Library Park in Guayabal.

Each of these bands participates in one of the seven musical categories of the Altavoz program: rap, electronic, alternative, ska, reggae, core, punk, and metal, featuring over 400 musicians in this edition, which represents the third phase of the Altavoz process, culminating in the selection of 28 groups that will qualify for the International Altavoz Festival, to be held from October 11 to 13.

📚 History & Interesting Facts:

The Ciudad Altavoz concert series, a vibrant fixture in Medellín’s cultural calendar, emerged from the larger Altavoz festival, which began in 2004. Initially conceived as a platform to promote local rock bands and foster the city’s burgeoning music scene, Altavoz quickly grew in popularity, leading to the creation of the free, open-air Ciudad Altavoz concerts. These events are not just about music; they are a celebration of Medellín’s resilience and transformation, showcasing how art and culture can contribute to social development and community building, offering a unique blend of historical significance and contemporary appeal.
