Teatro en familia: El Principito en Medellín
With choreography by Sandra Mosquera and musical composition by maestro Gustavo Yepes, the theater revisits this wonderful story to reflect on the man of our time, a man who has forgotten how to play and whom we want to invite to be a child again, to fly, to dream, to have fun, to look with the heart.
There, we will see the story of a pilot who suffers an accident in the desert and meets a child, whom he calls the Little Prince and who tells him about all the planets he has visited and the disappointments he has had. This unexpected encounter allows both to achieve what they had never achieved before: to be understood in their vision of the world and of human beings. Through the tenderness and apparent ingenuity of The Little Prince, an apparently childish story is revealed that, in reality, proposes a profound reflection of man on human relationships and life itself.
📚 History & Interesting Facts:
“The Little Prince” (Le Petit Prince) is a novella written and illustrated by French aristocrat, writer, poet, and pioneering aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It was first published in 1943 in both French and English. The story is a poetic tale, told by a pilot stranded in the desert who meets a young prince fallen from a tiny asteroid. Through their conversations, the novella explores profound themes of loneliness, friendship, love, and loss.
Despite its deceptively simple, childlike narrative and illustrations, “The Little Prince” is a deeply philosophical work that critiques the absurdities of the adult world and celebrates the innocence, imagination, and wisdom of childhood. It has been translated into over 300 languages and dialects, making it one of the most translated books in history, and has sold over 140 million copies worldwide, cementing its status as one of the best-selling books ever published. Its enduring popularity stems from its timeless message about the importance of seeing with the heart rather than just with the eyes, and its poignant reflections on what truly matters in life.
