My experience at the dental center was pleasant, and the quality of work being exemplified by what they were able to achieve for me, was of top quality. For two years , I have used the services offered, and I really cannot claim on any occasion that the staff were negligent, but instead they were very professional and comforting at all times. I recommend them highly, and I will in the future return to achieve one other issue that US Surgeons have recommended accomplished, at one third or at most, half the cost. 🦷👍
I spend a lot of time in Medellin therefore, I felt it was important to establish a relationship with a dentist in case of a dental emergency. I went to International Smiles based on the recommendation of expats friends, most who are already patients of International Smiles. My first appointment was for a cleaning and see the office. I wanted to know if I had an emergency situation occur, that I was comfortable with the medical care I would receive.
On a recent flight to Medellin, I bit into a cracker with a small seed which fractured my wisdom tooth. After landing, I contacted International Smiles and was scheduled with Dra. Lina. It was recommended that the tooth be extracted. I elected to be put to sleep since the surgery would take over an hour. I was so impressed that I was never in any pain and the tooth never bled.
I am now scheduled to have my old mercury fillings removed. I have recommended International Smiles to a fellow lawyer and he had extensive dental work and he repeatedly thanks me for the referral.

I have never had a better experience with a dentist. I went in for a routine cleaning and left feeling incredibly relaxed. This should be a spa review but when I tell you they give their patients the ultimate comfort experience, they deliver. I was given aroma therapy, a neck massage, and an eye mask that massaged my eyes while my teeth were getting cleaned. You are in good hands. Dentists are very knowledgable and will take the time to explain and answer any and all questions you have. I also left appt feeling more informed about my overall oral health. Kind staff and doctors here. Highly recommend.

Wow!!! This is, by far, the BEST place for dental care that I’ve ever seen. I can’t say enough about the quality and care that I received in my visit. It was FABULOUS! The expert cleaning and comprehensive exam were incredible. I will definitely return for more follow up care on my next visit. This is THE place to go for your dental care in Medellin. You are made to feel special from the moment you communicate with them. I felt very comfortable and safe in their hands. I was also quite impressed that this is a woman-run business, although I guess I should not be surprised, of course women are always so much better at doing things. The treatment and care I received by the dentists and staff at international smiles was the best I’ve ever gotten from medical professionals. It was simply amazing! I broke my tooth on vacation and they reorganized schedules to get me in just a day later so I could get the treatment I needed and still be able to enjoy my vacation. They are all so friendly and went out of there way to make sure I was taken care of, I even flew back to see them for my follow up procedure and it was completely worth it as they went above and beyond again. I’ve been coming to International Smile for close to a year now as I had a lot of work to do after years of neglecting my dental health. I’m so happy with everything from beginning to end. The service from the reception desk is always proactive and with clear directions and they are so flexible which helps me with coordinating international travel to get there. The Doctors and Techs are absolute professionals and make sure I’m comfortable during the whole experience. Also, they have everything here in one place – cavities, cleaning, surgery (I had a gum graft), mercury removal, orthodontics, implants and veneers. Everyone was gentle with their approach, and very focussed on natural aesthetics and the actual health of my mouth, not just ‘cover ups’. I wanted to get some veneers done and I went to six different dentists to find the one that I thought would be the best. They recommended getting less veneers than all of the other locations and also recommended that I get some orthodontic work done prior to make sure the results turn out as good as possible. I’ve been working with the orthodontist Ricardo this year and couldn’t be more pleased. They are professional and will make sure you are well taken care of.
Good luck finding a better dentist. They make it easy and inviting to get your teeth done. With the excellent English, the relaxing eye massager during treatment, and the affordable prices… we’re getting everything done here. I just went through my 2nd phase of my dental implant process and so far I am very pleased with everything far as the work and the communication from the dentist office. Everyone is so professional and nice here. I would definitely recommend them to everybody.

I went to get some emergency work done for one of my crowns and the International Smiles team was incredibly helpful and timely in their response. The prices are very reasonable and they do not try to overprice their services even if you’re an Expat who doesn’t understand cost standards. I was so impressed that my wife and I got some cleaning done and I got their Invisalign product with Dr. Velez.
3 months after all my services for my wife and I and we are still extremely happy and whenever we go back and visit Colombia, we will definitely be getting routine check-ups.
From the prices, the atmosphere, the regular check-ins from staff, and the overall service and responsiveness, I am VERY impressed. Highly recommend this place!

Doctor Adriana Castaño is the best dentist I have ever found. When ever I travel to Medellin I attempt to use the services of International smiles. The facility is friendly. The doctor is very soothing in her methods. I feel relaxed and calm during the whole process. I would recommend her to anyone. She does great work.
I was a bad child growing up when it came to taking care of my teeth so I’m literally paying for it as an adult. I have a LOT of experience with dentists both domestically in the United States and abroad in Malaysia and Thailand. Doing our recent trip to Medellin we got connected to Dr. Lina and International Smiles and really enjoyed our recent visits. The quality and care was top notch and was priced reasonably. I got a cleaning and two fillings and my partner got a new guard plus a cleaning. But what we loved the most was how Dr. Lina really showed she cared about us as patients and didn’t see us as customers. She discussed the health of our teeth and gave us options regarding our care. We never felt pressure or pushed to do anything. Dr. Lina’s English is great and the head massage, aroma therapy, and beautiful outdoor wait room were nice surprises on top of amazing care. We’re thankful we found her and highly recommend International Smiles.
My experience was amazing! During my first appointment, I couldn’t stop smiling before the doctor started the dental work because I received such thoughtful, kind, and gentle personal care. The doctor and assistant made sure I was comfortable physically, mentally, and emotionally. It was the best care I have ever received in my life at a dental office and the dental work was great too! My experience made me question why every dental office doesn’t do what they do. They pay attention to simple yet extremely important details and this produces extremely beneficial results. I couldn’t stop smiling when I left the office after each appointment because of the care I received. In the past, I strongly disliked going to the dentist but I was amazed that I felt so good after leaving International Smiles. Every encounter with every member of the team — the people at the front desk, the dentists, the dental assistants, and the owner — was great. I’m still not a fan of getting those numbing shots but they make that experience much better for me than it was in the past. I actually look forward to going to this dental clinic! Hands down the best dental experience I’ve ever had. They were able to save a tooth that my dentist in the US said I needed to have pulled. My root canals and crowns were so easy and painless. Dr. Rizzo & Dr. Sara were so gentle and professional. The entire staff is incredible, very caring and kind. They share a passion for dentistry and it truly shows. I will be coming back for all of future dental needs!!

They provide me the best dental services I have ever received in my life and that includes the 25+ years of my life I spent living in the United States. They are true professionals, do awesome work, super friendly, and are all about comfort. And that comfort piece is no joke. They literally make it a spa-like experience with a back massager, scented oils, etc.

Excellent dentist! I was really worried about getting my wisdom teeth taken out in Colombia initially. In hindsight I will probably travel to Colombia to get my next dental procedure done by International Smiles. The treatment was as good, if not better, than anything I’ve received in a western country and the price is about 1/4. They put me under IV sedation for the operation so there was no stress or fear on my part, the anesthetist did an excellent job at putting me at ease before the operation. The dentist did a superb job removing my wisdom teeth, the sockets healed after about a week, all pain is gone away and I’m back to normal eating. They were also kind enough to take me home after the procedure so I didn’t have any issues while I was still in a woozy state.
Both of us had treatments done at International Smile Dental Clinic. Doctors Lina Rizzo and Gloria Arbelaez were involved in our procedures and it was professionally done with a personal touch! Putting you at ease while undergoing the procedures with Holistic approaches are a plus. It has certainly given us a whole new experience at a dental office. All staff speak english and communication and reminders for your appointment from the front desk was handled through whatsapp which we found very convenient. I’m deathly afraid of the dentist due to childhood trauma but they made me feel at ease and was able to successfully remove a complicated wisdom tooth. Not much pain after, only took one dose of the pain meds. No swelling at all and didn’t even need to ice my jaw. I went back two weeks later and did a cleaning as well. Amazing organization! Super duper friendly people. Highly recommended.
Surely my favorite dentists. From eye massages and steam facial while and after treaments. Had mercury fillings removed, root canal treatment, porcelain crowns and tooth whitening for a fraction of the price and mind you this is the absolute finest in dentistry in Medellin. I came here based in the reviews and left happy as can be. On my last day I got a couple of cakes as a super thank you to all the girls that helped me. Definitely an absolute 5 star experience!
If I had to summarize International smiles and the work of Dr. Lina Rizzo in 2 words it would be life changing. I have visited dentists in NYC, New Jersey, and Florida and would come across feedback that maybe it can be done, doable and possibly. I knew my case was different as I had severe gum issues and dental problems. Besides the fact that I had first hand recommendations from the work that international smiles has done, I knew from the very first visit that I was going to proceed. They had a team of specialists look at my mouth all at once and prepared a treatment plan from day one. It is very difficult in words to describe how special this place is and how amazing Dr. Rizzo was.

I was looking for Holistic Dental services in Colombia when I came across International Smiles. The reviews were phenomenal- and as far as I could find, they are the only dentists providing holistic services in the country. I contacted them while I was still in Canada and throughout our entire communication, the staff was friendly, responsive and helpful.
I had my first appointment (I have several procedures I am doing with their clinic) for an evaluation and cleaning.
The reviews are definitely accurate regarding the level of service and comfort provided. I have hated going to the dentist as most people, and I can honestly say it’s been the best dental experience I’ve ever had in my 31 years.
From the unexpected massage chair and eye mask, to the essential oil steam and massage, blankets, pillows, comfort was not an issue.
Dr.Vásquez speaks impeccable English and was able to discuss every concern i had and answer every question. They honored my request for a Holistic Dental approach (no fluoride) and are clearly very experienced, educated and on top of that are extremely kind, patient and friendly. My teeth have honestly never been cleaned this thoroughly and well, and on top of that it was pleasant! I trust Dr.Vásquez and what she suggested for my treatment plan.

Hi this is Charlotte Lundemo. My husband and I received excellent dental care and attention from International Smiles. They had excellent reviews on the Internet and lived up to their reputation. Removal of metal fillings, replacement of broken crown and removal of 4 wisdom teeth with metal fillings was done very professionally and with care for the patients. They made sure everything was ok before they were finished. They also had a visiting dermatologist that we made an appointment with and a skin care doctor that I made an appointment with. All were very professional.
Amazing! My fiancée and I were traveling to Medellín and decided to make an appointment here after seeing reviews from Reddit. The staff all spoke perfect English which was important to us as we discussed our medical history with our doctors. We ended up getting a cleaning as well as some fillings and thoroughly enjoyed the procedures. Super easy communication over WhatsApp and overall outstanding service!

Well I finally finished all my dental work and also did veneers. I live in the USA and traveled to Medellin colombia to do dental work. I’m so glad i made that choice. Not only was it much more economical than the Usa but it was hands down A1 Service. All the staff are wonderful and took great care of me. Dr Gloria helped me through everything step by step. I now smile with more confidence than ever before and I highly recommend their services. The only feedback I have for the business is to explain any additional costs and treatments beforehand. Had to have a little extra gum work done and wasn’t expecting the bump in price. That being said it’s still a fraction of what it would have cost back home in Canada so it’s not a big deal, just proper expectations help. Again very happy and highly recommended. I had a great experience from every aspect, very professional, very warm service and the entire treatment is the most pleasant i ever received in a medical clinic. Another great advantage is most of the entire staff speaks good English and it can really help for tourists not speaking spanish.

Oh so many good things to say here. My wife and I went here several times to take out some mercury fillings that we had. It was SO nice to be confident that they were taking all the precautions to take them out the safe way.
We also got our teeth cleaned here and it was the more detailed and gentle cleaning we’ve ever had.
The final thing we did was to get invisible braces (like invisalign) with Dr. Velez and it was an amazing process. We started the process in Medellin and then they helped us get everything we needed after we moved out of the country and had great contact with us by video calls to make sure the process went smoothly.
Now I’m writing this with clean teeth that have no mercury in them and are straighter than they have been my whole life.
I definitely recommended several others to come here because the quality of service is amazing.
Without a doubt the most remarkable experience I have ever had at a dental office. Instead of getting a dental crown in the US for an insane amount of money I decided to wait to get it in Colombia for a fraction of the price, and I am so incredibly happy that I did. This place provided excellent care and attention to detail that I have never seen back home. You literally get to lie down with a neck and head massage wrap while soothing music plays in the background, which is so helpful in distracting you from any discomfort felt during the procedures. I cannot say enough about Dr. Gloria Arbelaez, she was so knowledgeable, friendly, and caring. She and the rest of the team did an excellent job with my dental crown. Friends and family cannot tell the difference between the crown and my real teeth. Very high quality and natural-looking. It has now been 3 months since I got it placed and I have had no issues. “I can’t say enough good things about International Smiles and the people who work there. I am a dental coward so by the I finally made my way to them I knew things were bad.
After a thorough evaluation it was determined that I needed nearly complete extraction and all-on-six (a total of 12). I also had significant bone loss on top. I decided to go forward with this procedure.
This process is not easy under the best of circumstances but I know the staff at International Smiles did everything humanly possible to make me comfortable, and the difference in fees compared to the US is truly remarkable…at least half!
Communication is efficient and effective using Whatsapp.
This is my second of two phases of my treatment and I should get most of my permanent teeth installed in a few days (can’t wait). During my first visit I stayed in Laureles, which is a lovely neighborhood, but can be inconvenient if you have several visits because of Medellin traffic. I’m in El Poblado this trip and it is much easier.

The dental specialists were all very professional. The service was top-notch and far superior to what I’ve had in Canada. Here the staff don’t rush and really took their time to explain my options. They recommended what was best for me instead of what would cost the most.
I loved having the periodontist, dentist, and orthodontist in one building – this meant convenience, better communication, and integrated care.
If anybody ever says that the overall dental care you’ll receive in Colombia is worse than, say, Canada, they are wrong: the service at International Smiles was far superior – and for a fraction of the cost.

The Dentist and staff are one of the best I have ever experienced. They where amazing and helpful. From start to finish. They helped me with setting me up with a driver and getting me to and from appointments. Explained me the entire process and I am so happy I am going again soon to finish up the entire procedure. My dental journey is about half over. My first appointments included 7 new crowns, two implants, two root canals and two bone grafts. I am able to say during all of this I have had ZERO pain. I can’t wait to return for completion including veneers

Highly highly recommend International Smiles! I hadn’t seen a dentist in a few years and came in for a cleaning/check-up. I don’t take the best care of my teeth, so unfortunately I had a lot of work to be done. The space is really nice and they make sure you are comfortable (blanket, head massager, tv w music on the ceiling, etc).
I had numerous cavities (many different kinds) filled, root canals, and whitening done with Dra Daniela + the root canal specialist. Dra Daniela was very thorough, always answered my questions and never pressured me to do anything I didn’t want to do. It never felt rushed and they took the time needed to get as much done each appointment as possible which often meant finishing late after closing. They really provide great service, which is rare in Colombia.
I also had aligners + retainer done with the orthodontist Ricardo. He has been extra amazing working with my schedule to make sure I was able to finish everything before I left and virtual appointments while I was away.
I really can’t recommend them enough, it’s the best service and quality I’ve seen in a looong time! They fill up fast so make sure to book your appointment in advance 🙂 which is easily done through WhatsApp!
The dentist office was beautiful and their service was fabulous. I had a cleaning, 4 fillings, teeth whitening, and mouth guard made. The team was great to work with and very flexible with my schedule. I highly recommend!
I have spent a few weeks with these lovely ladies having many dental procedures. Root canals and crowns, removal/replacement of old metal fillings, a veneer and whitening. The service is exceptional at every level. They have managed to turn dental services into a spa like treatment. The entire staff is kind, caring and attentive. All at a very reasonable cost. I very highly recommend this clinic for all your dental needs. Thank you ladies for a great experience with terrific results!
I had an outstanding experience and i am very happy with the service. Great doctor and great team. As it is an private clinic it is of course more expensive but it is worth the money. It felt more Like a Spa than the dentist
The service and treatments I received from Dra. Rizzo and everyone in the International Smiles was an expression of excellence, quality and caring — in each and every part of the service — the pre-treatment consult, the cost estimates, the scheduling, the treatments, the post -treatment follow up.
It’s that rare practice where excellence, quality and caring are present and presented to the patient. I feel deep gratitude and satisfaction.
Oh, and, compared to identical dental procedures available to me by highly-rated providers in Oregon (I live in the U.S.), the cost is 20% (twenty percent!) of what Oregon dentists charge. The money we saved at Interstate Smiles covered the cost of our round-trip air fares to Medellin where we have family.
The BEST dental experience I ever had in my life. The most warming experience! I got my teeth cleaned, whitened, and had my wisdom teeth pulled and just wow !!!!!! Extremely professional amazing prices ( way less than the US ) and amazing environment!!! Loved my doctor and her assistants ! International Smiles is an excellent place to have dental work done. Dr. Lina Ardila, on-site periodontist, did the original consultation and a deep cleaning. Dr. Ardila was very gentle and thorough. The remainder of the work, preventative and cosmetic, was done by Dr. Rizzo. Before the work was started, I was given a detailed cost breakdown. There was never any further costs charged. I had both crowns and veneers. Dr. Rizzo was extremely professional, friendly and knowledgeable. I did not have any discomfort. After each appointment, the Dr. or the front desk staff called to ask how I was feeling. International Smiles uses Whatsapp to communicate which was exceptional. Kenia, Maybel and Tatiana at the reception area treated me as if i was family. Tatiana always made me smile before and after my appointments. The other people at the reception were just as nice and friendly.. I just didn’t get all of the names. I also would point out the Dr’s assistants were very nice and saw to my comfort during my visits. International Smiles is a great Dental Office.
I returned to Medellin 6 months from my initial visit. I had some further work done including a deep cleaning. An extra: Tatiana washed my hands with alcoffee grounds. My hands felt amazing. The friendliness and professionalism of everyone is so exceptional. Dr. Lina Rizzo is a great dentist.

From the initial assessment to the treatment plan to the post-treatment follow up and customer care, the clinic as a whole, the dentists (Dr Vasquez and Dr Laberry) the assistant and support staff were extremely professional and friendly, with a great protocol that made the process as enjoyable as a visit to a dentist could be 🙃. I had 2 cavities, one ceramic veneer and a tooth extraction, so was able to experience various treatments offered at the clinic. One thing that really stood out was that the initial assessment actually found some obvious cavities which the Canadian dentist I had seen for a dental check 2 months earlier hadn’t discovered.
The communication was great, whether you choose to have it in English or Spanish, and the clinic followed up several times after each procedure to check in and ensure all was well. I have never had such a great experience at a dentist. Highly recommended.
If there were 10 stars, I would have chosen that! I don’t know what to say, but this was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made by chosen this dental office. The quality of care, the customer service, the dental staff (Dr. Rizzo), Tatiana (I call her the money lady who took care of payments and was initial contact when entering the office, and my personal WhatsApp contact person Ana. I can seriously name many staff members that have positively impacted my care and forever grateful. I flew from US three times for treatments and will probably be back. From the eye massager, facial steam, green juice (for amalgamation removal, scalp massage, fuzzy blanket, great music, ceiling TV’s, everything was well thought out for client satisfaction. I went out there to have implants done, but as I was getting those things done, I just continued to get other things done that I waited years for. I will highly recommend and end this review because I can talk forever about how satisfied I am!

This is my second time visiting international Smiles. Tatiana greeted me with a pleasant smile and was extremely professional in regards to the paperwork. I usually hate going to the dentist but Titiana makes you at ease when entering. Dr. Daniela Vasquez is the dentist that did the filling procedure and did an excellent job. She is very attentive and makes you feel extremely comfortable while performing the procedure. Dr Vasquez speaks English well so there is no problem on that end. I highly recommend international dentist because they do high quality work and you don’t have to give one of your kidneys away for dental service like in the states. 😀
Side note: Has nothing to do with nothing but the women that work there are fine. They still do quality work though.
These are the best dentists in town. It’s very helpful that everybody in the office speaks English. The teeth cleaning is amazing. Most other cleaners are very rough, but they are very gentle. You even get a massage during the whole process. Because it is so pleasant, I don’t end up skipping my cleanings! I also got Invisalign braces with them a couple years ago. The whole process was great and affordable. 5 smiles for International Smiles.
My entire family loved our experience with International Smiles, especially the kids! I ended up having much more extensive work done and through the entire process I felt supported, well informed, comfortable (all of the holistic details they add make you forget you are at the dentist 😊) and in the end, thrilled with the end results. They have a truly fantastic team. We were equally impressed with the communication from the front desk as we were with the work from the doctors.
