SUMMARY:Teatro en familia: El Principito en Medellín
DESCRIPTION:With choreography by Sandra Mosquera and musical composition by maestro Gustavo Yepes\, the theater revisits this wonderful story to reflect on the man of our time\, a man who has forgotten how to play and whom we want to invite to be a child again\, to fly\, to dream\, to have fun\, to look with the heart. \nThere\, we will see the story of a pilot who suffers an accident in the desert and meets a child\, whom he calls the Little Prince and who tells him about all the planets he has visited and the disappointments he has had. This unexpected encounter allows both to achieve what they had never achieved before: to be understood in their vision of the world and of human beings. Through the tenderness and apparent ingenuity of The Little Prince\, an apparently childish story is revealed that\, in reality\, proposes a profound reflection of man on human relationships and life itself. \n📚 History & Interesting Facts:\n“The Little Prince” (Le Petit Prince) is a novella written and illustrated by French aristocrat\, writer\, poet\, and pioneering aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It was first published in 1943 in both French and English. The story is a poetic tale\, told by a pilot stranded in the desert who meets a young prince fallen from a tiny asteroid. Through their conversations\, the novella explores profound themes of loneliness\, friendship\, love\, and loss. \nDespite its deceptively simple\, childlike narrative and illustrations\, “The Little Prince” is a deeply philosophical work that critiques the absurdities of the adult world and celebrates the innocence\, imagination\, and wisdom of childhood. It has been translated into over 300 languages and dialects\, making it one of the most translated books in history\, and has sold over 140 million copies worldwide\, cementing its status as one of the best-selling books ever published. Its enduring popularity stems from its timeless message about the importance of seeing with the heart rather than just with the eyes\, and its poignant reflections on what truly matters in life. \nJoin our networking group in Colombia on Facebook\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Colombia Expats Networking Hub \n \n \n 🌟 Welcome to Colombia Expats Networking Hub! 🌎 Join to our community where you can connect with fellow expatriates\, share your experiences\, and gather invaluable insights about your life in Colombia. 🌆 \n \n \n \n Join Now!

SUMMARY:BOTERO Filarmónico
DESCRIPTION:BOTERO is a ballet inspired by the numerous paintings and artworks of Fernando Botero. This Colombian artist is famous for his distinctive style characterized by voluminous and exaggerated figures\, also known as Boterismo. \n  \nWith choreography by Colombian-Belgian Annabelle Lopez Ochoa\, the Medellín Metropolitan Ballet Company brings the visual universe of Boterismo to life through movement. For the first time\, Filarmed performs the original music of the work live\, composed by Juan Pablo Acosta. \n📚 History & Interesting Facts: \nFernando Botero Angulo is a renowned Colombian figurative artist and sculptor\, born in Medellín on April 19\, 1932. He is globally recognized for his distinctive style\, often referred to as “Boterismo\,” which features exaggerated\, voluminous figures and forms in his paintings and sculptures. This unique approach transforms ordinary subjects\, from still lifes to portraits and historical events\, into monumental and often whimsical representations. \nA key turning point in his career was his 1957 painting “Still Life with Mandolin\,” where he experimented with disproportionately large forms\, a characteristic that would define his work. His art is not meant to be a caricature but rather an exploration of volume and sensuality in form. He has often stated that he does not paint fat people\, but rather “volume.” \nHis works frequently parody famous artworks\, historical figures\, and political events\, imbuing them with his distinctive style. He has created numerous public sculptures that are displayed in prominent locations worldwide\, including “Mona Lisa” in Florence\, “The Bird” in Singapore\, and many pieces in Medellín\, his hometown\, such as those found in Plaza Botero.
