I used the Assis Card insurance in one of my trip where I were intoxicated for food and the response was so quick. They sending me a doctor to my airbnb and give me medicines to improve my dehidration. When I retired to Colombia last year I used an accountant recommended by a friend to help me with my insurance for Visa application. It was expensive, time consuming and frustrating. As my Visa came up for renewal, I was introduced to Assist Card, who cleared up a problem with my health insurance and offered me a health assistance policy. I would recommend Assist Card to any expat needing help with moving to Colombia.

In 2023 I utilized the services of Assist Card to fulfill the requirements of my Columbia retirement visa. The process was smooth and uncomplicated with the proffesional and knowledgeable services that were provided. When it is time to renew my visa I will be using there insurance services again. I used Assist Card to get the health policy to apply for a Retirement Visa for Colombia after reading about them on Medellin Guru and talking to one of their representatives a few times. I also was able to purchase the required Travelers Health Insurance through them. They were great. I had a whole lot of questions and some of the information didn’t seem clear to me. They were very thorough and exhibited a great deal of patience with my seemingly never ending questions. I highly recommend it.

We had a problem, that the Colombian medical insurance company that covered me previously, (I’m in my 70’s) simply picked up its skirts and left Popayan, where we live. For some reason, though, they kept me in their records which made it (incomprehensibly) impossible for me to get a replacement policy with a different company. We tried, friends in the medical insurance biz here in Popayan tried, and we could not wriggle loose. But Assist Card came through.
I can’t sing enough praise forAssist Card: they are responsive, well informed — and a blessing for me — they speak English. (And praise for Jeff of Medellinguru, too. He’s a national resource for us expats.) Do yourself a favor, take my advice, and spare that hair you would be tearing out trying to navigate the colombian health requirements and its necessarily evolving conditions in these trying times: pay the pittance and let Assist Card do the work. I wish we had done so many years ago.
